James Aponovich and Elizabeth Johansson Lead a Gallery Walk

James Aponovich and Elizabeth Johansson to take visitors “behind the canvas” for an intimate view and discussion of the current exhibition, “An Artists’ Circle.”

An educational program – free and open to public!

Peterborough, NH: There’s little doubt that the very best way to appreciate a work of art is to have it presented and discussed by the artist who created it. That’s the kind of intimate, “behind the canvas” experience visitors to the Sharon Arts Downtown Galleries will enjoy on Friday, August 6th from 5-7 pm, when famed artists James Aponovich and Elizabeth Johansson conduct an informative Gallery Walk of the current exhibition “An Artists’ Circle.”

In this very special conversation, James and Elizabeth will give visitors a new context for viewing and enjoying their art – and that of their very talented circle of artist friends. How did the artists decide on these subjects and objects? How did they come to organize this exhibit? Do they interact regularly with the friends whose work is presented here, or is this a rare event?

The discussion will include vignettes on each artist about what makes their styles unique and will explore the influence of place – i.e New Hampshire – on their work. Along the way, this talented couple will share views of their professional lives as artists, the origins and creative process of their work, as well as insights into their personal lives as husband and wife. An exchange of questions and comments will also be encouraged.

The program is free and open to the public, plenty of parking in Depot Square. A wine and cheese reception will follow. Further information is available by calling 603-924-7676.
