Calling Community Shutterbugs: Sharon Art Center Invites Public to Submit “Community Snapshots”

Community Snapshots will Complement Exhibit
“Click! Contemporary Responses to Photographic Masterworks”

On exhibit May 6th – June 25th, 2011

Sharon Art Center announces a unique opportunity in conjunction with the upcoming exhibition: “Click! Contemporary Responses to Photographic Masterworks,” which will be on display at the CLICK! Contemporary Responses to Photographic MasterworksSharon Arts downtown Exhibition Gallery May 6th through June 25th, 2011. During this exhibition, Sharon Arts will also exhibit Community Snapshots, in the Grove Street window. Participation is free and open to the public.

Public shutterbugs are invited to submit one snapshot each for inclusion in the show. The subject matter for entries is community, and is open to the participant’s interpretation. Ideas include people, places, and happenings in the surrounding community. Professional quality photography is not required.

“Participants are invited capture moments in time and to shoot photos without being concerned about producing perfect images, said Camellia Sousa, Sharon’s Gallery & Store Director. “The snapshots will be displayed as a collage, bringing together the different ways we connect to and perceive our community,” she said.

Submission information for the event includes, snapshots taken in any photographic medium will be accepted; prints must be delivered directly to Sharon Arts Center’s downtown location. Images on cd, submitted via email, or on portable storage devices at not accepted. Snapshots can be new or old but must have been taken by the member submitting them and cannot be returned. Prints can be black and white or color and must be 3×5, 4×6, or 5×7 in size, and not matted or framed. Prints will not be for sale. Sharon Arts reserves the right not to exhibit snapshots.
