Sharon Arts Students Create a Mural For Crotched Mountain Foundation

Sharon Arts Youth ARTventure Summer Camp Students Create a Mural this Week for

Crotched Mountain Foundation’s Outpatient Clinic Reception Area

Peterborough, NH – - – Art can lift the spirits of anyone who stops to look – wherever it exists. During the week of Sharon Arts at Crotched Mountain- Unveiling MuralJuly 26th, the students (ages 7-12) of the Youth ARTventure Summer Camp at Sharon Arts Center will learn about the importance of art in a public space, and will collaborate with a student-artist from the Crotched Mountain School to design and create an inspirational mural for the children’s reception area of the Outpatient Clinic at Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center in Greenfield, NH. Leona Nazarro, a high school student at Crotched Mountain School, joined the group as they painted the mural on Wednesday.

“The children will learn not only about how to collaborate as a team, but also to be able to use their art to bring joy into the lives of others,” said Naomi Graham, ARTventure instructor. “We are so grateful to Crotched Mountain for making this possible for our students.” Nick DelliColli, Outpatient Clinic manager, was equally enthused. “We’ve wanted to enliven this part of the reception area for some time. I was thrilled when Julie Arpin, our administrative assistant, suggested this idea, brought it to the Sharon Arts Center and found a way to include a Crotched Mountain School student in the project. I can’t wait to see the completed mural.”

Sharon Arts at Crotched MountainThe week will end with an on site Opening Reception and an unveiling of the mural on Friday, July 30th at 12:00 noon at Crotched Mountain. Parents of the students and staff of both organizations are invited, and reporters from the press are invited and encouraged to attend as well.
