Sharon Arts Center Cited for Non-Profit Arts Excellence in National Campaign!
Sharon Arts Center was rated nationally as one of only 89 organizations amongst thousands nationwide by the “Great Nonprofits” 2011 Arts
Appreciation Campaign which took place during January, 2011. More than 60,000 individuals across the United States submitted reviews and personal comments. A total of 288 nonprofit organizations working to promote the arts were rated and reviewed by stakeholders. Sharon Arts Center is one of only 89 organizations cited for excellence.
“For all of the people who think that the arts is something that doesn’t touch their lives, they can think again after looking at this remarkable and diverse range of arts nonprofits,” said Perla Ni, CEO of GreatNonprofits. “These [highly rated] organizations make a remarkable contribution to all of our lives!”
The reviews were posted as part of the 2011 GreatNonprofits Arts Appreciation Campaign, conducted in partnership with GuideStar and a broad coalition of leaders in the field including, Theatre Communications Group, Intersection for the Arts, The New 42nd St. Inc., and Art & Creativity for Healing. The unfiltered reviews of Sharon Arts Center reviews featured positive feedback from constituents who participate in all aspects of the organizations offerings: from parents of summer campers to Exhibition Gallery visitors and patrons at downtown Peterborough Craft Store. When asked about opportunities for the organization to improve services, most reviewers cited a need for community support- encouraging charitable giving and volunteerism to Sharon Arts.

About Sharon Arts
The mission of Sharon Arts Center, a non-profit organization, is to engage the community in the artistic process, to support and serve artists and craftspeople, and to foster the relationship between artists and the community through education, exhibitions, the promotion and sale of art and craft, as well as through special programs and events.
Sharon Arts Center offers a wide variety of art classes and programs in the school facility in Sharon, NH, a Fine Craft Gallery, a Juried Artist Member Gallery, and an Exhibition Gallery in the Depot Square facility.
The Sharon Arts Fine Crafts Gallery is located in Depot Square in Downtown Peterborough. Store hours are: Monday – Saturday 11am to 6pm, and Sunday 11 – 4 PM.
The Sharon Arts School is located at 457 Route 123 in Sharon, NH. Classes take place Monday-Thursday from 10am-9pm, Fridays from 10am-4pm, and on select weekend days. The Student Shop is open during school office hours, Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.
