Well-known watercolor artist Frankie Brackley Tolman will teach an Experimental Watermedia class at Sharon Arts School of Art & Craft, 457 Rt. 123, Sharon, from Sept. 26 through Dec. 5.
Designed for those who wish to explore watercolor as well as other watermedia such as gouache, casein, and acrylic, the class is open to all levels of experience. Each class will consist of a critique, a discussion theme of the week, and a painting session. Homework will be to finish the painting started in class.
“All you need is a desire to expand your knowledge and explore new ideas,” Tolman says. “The emphasis will be on making your art uniquely your own–more creation and less imitation!”
A signature member of the New England Watercolor Society, Tolman is a full-time artist whose paintings have been accepted into many national, regional, and local juried exhibits. A juried artist at the Sharon Arts Center Gallery, she is represented by the Mill Brook Gallery in Concord, NH; Art 3 Gallery in Manchester, NH; and Redmond/Bennett Gallery in Dublin, NH. Samples of her work can be seen at www.frankiebrackleytolman.com.
“Frankie’s class is a heavily sought-after opportunity,” said Sharon Arts Center School Director Alexandra Wall. “She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in painting and her work is widely recognized in our region. Her comfortable approach and thoughtful exercises allow students the chance to try new techniques and expand their artistic toolkit.”
