Nashua Artist Ken Fiery is featured in Juried Members’ Gallery during July

Colorful tone poems of New England highlight July exhibit at Sharon Art Center Downtown Galleries

Tuft of Flowers by Ken FieryPeterborough, NH: — Originally a practicing psychologist, artist Ken Fiery painted for his own enjoyment for fifty Building a Load of Hay by Ken Fieryyears before he decided to turn “pro” and share his work with others. Visitors to Sharon Arts Galley during the month of July will be glad he did, as he is featured as SAC’s Artist of the Month.

“The stone walls and horses; the farms and barns; the old colonial homes and quiet woodland places; these create some of the magnificent poetic images that I love to paint,” says Fiery. “From those earliest years I was struck by the silent dignity of the endless stone walls that make such a beautiful patchwork of New England.”

The works on display at Sharon Art Center are poetic indeed. Quiet tributes to the timeless beauty that lies all around us in this Currier and Ives countryside. Fiery’s images, while markedly realist, are subtly rendered with impressionistic overlays of impasto oil, applied with knife and brush, that soften the subject into evocative dreams and memories of other days.

Monday Morning Harrisville II by Ken FieryKen Fiery has studied under prominent New Hampshire artist, Calvin Libby, and the New Hampshire Institute of Art. He currently works with Maine Coast painter Stan Moeller, and was recently accepted into the organization Oil Painters of America.
