Impressionist Painter Kristina Wentzell of Keene is Sharon Arts’ Featured Artist for November
Pastoral Landscapes and Brilliant Florals Paintings by Kristina Wentzell of Keene at Sharon Arts Downtown for November
Peterborough, NH:// With echoes of Gauguin and Manet reverberating from her canvases, impressionist painter Kristina Wentzell of Keene has been selected by the nonprofit
Sharon Arts’ Gallery Committee as the Art Center’s Feature Artist for the month of November.
“We’re delighted to have Kristina’s portfolio of vibrant, colorful landscapes and floral oil paintings in the Gallery,” said Gallery Director Camellia Sousa. “Her peaceful landscapes abound with light and the colors of her florals are dazzling.” Priced right for holiday giving, Ms. Wentzell’s paintings feature pastoral landscapes with shimmering lakes and sunny meadows while her florals offer rich bouquets of brilliant poppies against bright blue skies.
Kristina Wentzell developed the creative urge at an early age. She studied painting and drawing in Paris with Parsons School of Design and art history at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. She holds a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art.
“My inspiration is rooted in the beauty I see around me,” says the artist, “not just in picture postcard scenes but everywhere, in the play of light on a leaf in my backyard, the shapes and colors in the sky, stones on a beach or reflections in a puddle. Light, color and beauty are everywhere. I am interested in capturing the feeling of a place, its movement and energy.”
The beauty, movement, and energy of Ms. Wentzell’s paintings will be on display at the Sharon Arts Downtown Gallery through November 30th.
Other Exhibitions in November
2D or Not 2D: Art Inspired by Poetry, works by members of The Left Bank and Three Squared artist groups, is the featured exhibit in Sharon Arts’ Juried Gallery Downtown, November 5th through December 31st
