paintings in oil are luminous and filled with light – and whose work will be on view throughout the holidays in Sharon Art’s Downtown Galleries as the Center’s  Featured Artist for December. The display will be on view December 1st- 30th.

Mary Iselin is known for her light-filled, luminous paintings of horses, lambs, sheep, and other farm animals, as well as for her plein air landscapes.  She has spent the last thirty years on a working farm in the Mondadnock region of NH, so her subject matter is all around her, and she knows it well.

“I paint horses the way some artists would paint a bowl of fruit,” says Ms Iselin, “As a vehicle to explore light, color, atmosphere, and, most of all, spirit.” A full time artist, Mary also teaches at the Sharon Arts School in Sharon, NH.

Sharon Arts Center offers a wide variety of art classes and programs in the school facility in Sharon, NH, a Fine Craft Gallery, a Juried Artist Member Gallery, and an Exhibition Gallery in the Depot Square facility.

The Sharon Arts Fine Crafts Gallery is located in Depot Square in Downtown Peterborough. Store hours are: Monday – Wednesday 10am to 6pm, Thursday and Friday 10am to 7pm, and Sunday 11 – 4 PM.

Thanksgiving Day (November 25): Closed
November 26 to December 10  | Monday -Saturday: 10-6, Sunday 12-6
December 11 through December 23  | Every Day: 10-7
Christmas Eve (December 24): 9-3
Christmas Day (December 25): Closed
We will return to regular schedule of hours on December 26. Regular hours are Monday through Saturday 10-6, Sunday, 12-6.
