Aponovich, Johansson, Aponovich - Family Values Exhibition - July 7th
through August 20th at the Sharon Arts Center-Fine Arts Gallery.
Opening reception with the artists July 7th 5:00 to 7:00pm, public welcome.

"Paper Boxes and Ribbon" by Elizabeth Johansson, Pastels;"Pansies" by Ana Aponovich, Watercolor James Aponovich, our most recent New Hampshire State Artist Laureate, is a highly disciplined and experienced artist who has successfully negotiated the challenges of establishing a full career in the professional art scene. Selected collections of his work include The Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Chicago Art Institute, Chemical Bank and The Portland Art Museum. He has also been included in a myriad of Solo and Group Exhibits as well as a host of Public and Corporate Collections. James is the inaugural Artist in Residence of The New Hampshire Institute of Art. Elizabeth Johansson, has done one person shows in New York City, Boston and San Francisco as well as The Currier Museum of Art here in New Hampshire. Several notable public institutions have her work in their permanent collections including The Museum of Fine Arts, The Decordova Museum, The Boston Public Library and The Currier Museum of Art. For almost 20 years Elizabeth has been a drawing teacher at the New Hampshire Institute of Art. Other than painting and teaching Elizabeth is a gardener and garden designer. Ana Aponovich, an emerging watercolorist, is a graphic designer and computer artist producing color renderings of landscape and site plans for presentations and projects. Ana’s exhibitions and awards include the Group Art Show as well as Single Artist Show both in Hancock, NH. The Brookhouse Award (Safe Harbor Books), The Richard Sweetland Award, The Tomie De Poala Whitebird Award. Ana’s works are in the permanent collection of the Mariposa Museum and World Culture Center and Colby Sawyer College. The Sharon Arts Center is a non-profit organization whose mission is, "to stimulate, encourage and promote education in the theory and practice of arts and crafts, through instruction, exhibitions and assistance to the practitioners of the arts and crafts in marketing their products."
