The Sharon Arts Center is pleased to
announce an exhibit of the works of Massachusetts abstract artist Deborah
T. Colter, on display in its Colonnade Gallery through October 20,
2003, at 30 Grove Street, Peterborough, NH.
This exhibition presents abstract paintings on paper, framed and under
glass, that, in the artist's words, "seek balance and harmony among their
various visual components." She continues, "As an abstract painter,
the clarification of an image or thought is akin to balancing a nest on
a tree limb," the delicate balance that captures a moment.
Ms. Colter, who maintains her studio
on Martha's Vineyard, received her BFA from the Rhode Island School of
Design. She is affiliated with the Martha's Vineyard Center for the
Visual Arts and her works are in the collections of such diverse organizations
as Paramount Pictures in Los Angeles and Boston law firm Goodwin Procter
LLP.
