August 22nd through August 26th the Sharon Arts Center-Fine Arts Gallery will be presenting The Emerging Artists: In The Shadow of Monadnock. There will be an Artists' Reception on August 25th from 5:00-7:00pm in the Gallery. Public invited.

This show will feature 15 Artists that come from or currently live in the Monadnock Region. "Selection criteria is that they are currently making art and have not yet had the opportunity to present their work in a formal art gallery setting." Says Murkee Pudulles, curator for this show. "The Monadnock Region has drawn some of the most famous artists to the area over the years, this show features the artists that already live here. This will be a great view to where the future art may be headed."

The featured artists include: Crystal Bartlett, Aly Bowman, Carrie Buczinski, Corey Demarais, David Donavan, Olivia Kennett, Heather Lawless, Jason Machem, Greg Mamczak, Brian Murray, Robert Pon, Letitia Pellerin, Ty Snitco, Natalya Sysin and Dave Szehi.

The emerging artists represent a group of disparate ideas with a unifying theme. The artists are anywhere from 17 to 82 years old with a range of traditional styles as well as some new ideas on non-representational offerings. Some with recent or ongoing formal art training and some with an education of pure desire for creating art. This show will feature a variety of 2 dimensional media, including graphite drawings, paintings and collage as well as pottery and installation artwork.
