(Peterborough) The Sharon Arts Center is pleased to present monotypes by Pamela Lawson. Lawson paints the moments in nature that startle her - leaves in the wind that mimic birds in flight or the iridescent orange fish that appear in a bright green pond. "I prefer working in the technique of monotype because of the challenges of painting and printing an image. I like the unexpected results in this process as the painted image reverses and the ink is pushed into paper, retaining the texture of brushstrokes" says Lawson. The images on display are from her travels, her imagination, and the farms of central Massachusetts where she lives, and will be available to view through the month of August in the Sharon Arts Center's Juried Gallery at 30 Grove Street, Peterborough, NH.

Lawson has a BFA from Massachusetts College of Art. She is affiliated with The Gallery at the Clown, Powers Gallery, Sharon Arts Center and Chicago Center for the Print. She has been published in Art New England Magazine, Arts Media Magazine, The Boston Globe and New Hampshire Profiles Magazine. Lawson's Solo and Two Person exhibits include Powers Gallery; "Monotypes: New Works" and "Monotypes: The One and Only", Sharon Arts Center and Tufts University, Gallery Eleven. She has shown in Group Exhibitions at Powers Gallery; "New Works on Paper", Sharon Arts Center; "Hot Off the Presses" and "Nothing Common", Brickbottom Gallery; "Collaboration", Great Rivers Art Institute; "The American River", South Shore Art Center; "Trains, Planes, and Automobiles", and many more. Lawson has also received Juror's Awards at South Shore Art Center, Concord Art Association, Springfield Arts League and Sharon Arts Center.

The Sharon Arts Center is a non-profit organization that has been committed to the arts and artists for nearly 60 years.
