PETERBOROUGH, NH --- Sharon Arts Fine Craft Gallery and Store in Depot
Square is pleased to present Harrisville resident Jordana Korsen as the
Featured Artist during the month of May. Sharon Arts, a non-profit art
organization that's committed to connecting the community with art,
created the Featured Artist of the Month program to showcase a local
artist and their work, and to educate the public about their artistic
process.
Korsen, who has been working with glass for over two decades, is the owner and operator of Korsen Glass, a production and custom design studio in Harrisville. Since 1995, she has been the head of the hot glass program at Franklin Pierce College in Rindge. She also taught glass blowing to students of all levels at the Sharon Arts School of Art & Craft in Sharon. Korsen describes her work as spontaneous, whimsical and free. She tries to incorporate a sense of humor into her work, often making people smile. At the same time, her work is polished, controlled and technically sound. In addition to her functional and sculptural work, Korsen also creates architectural lighting. Her lighting work can be found in many fine restaurants, hotels, and casinos throughout the United States. Korsen's work is on display and for sale year round at the Sharon Arts Downtown Galleries. The Sharon Arts Fine Craft Gallery and Store is located in Depot Square in Downtown Peterborough. Hours are: Monday through Thursday, 10am to 5pm; Friday and Saturday, 10am to 6pm; Sundays, 11 to 4pm. The mission of Sharon Arts Center, a non-profit organization, is to support and serve artists and craftspeople, to engage the community in the artistic process, and to foster the relationship between artists and the community through education, exhibitions, the promotion and sale of art and craft, as well as through special programs and events. Sharon Arts offers a wide variety of art classes and programs in the school facility in Sharon, NH, and has an Artists' Resource Center (selling art supplies), a Fine Craft Gallery, a Juried Member Artist Gallery, and an Exhibition gallery in the Depot Square facility.
