The Sharon Arts Center invites artists to enter its

(Peterborough, NH) The Sharon Arts Center invites artists to enter its 2004 Juried Competition to be held October 23 - November 28 at the Gallery in Peterborough's Depot Square. Entries must be received by September 10.

Artists are invited to submit slides of two works (work designed in a set will count as one entry) to the Sharon Arts Center Exhibition Gallery, 30 Grove Street, Peterborough, NH 03458. All original drawings, paintings, prints, photography and sculpture created within the last two years are eligible for entry. Each person must submit an entry form, artist's statement and artist's resume with their slide(s) as well as the correct entry fee and a self-addressed stamped envelope for return of slides and jury decision notice. Entries will be jurored by Mara Williams, independent curator and partner of Artsbridge of Vermont and NYC, visual and performing arts consultants. She is currently curating "Andy Warhol - Intimate and Unseen" at Brattleboro (VT) Museum and Arts Center, where she served as an executive director for 10 years. Williams has implemented and developed exhibitions with artists including David Hockney, Wolf Kahn and Robert Rauschenberg. She received her AB in Theater from Boston College, MFA in Museology from Syracuse University and has completed doctoral course work in comparative arts at NYU.

An Opening Reception will be held October 23 from 5-7 pm.

The Sharon Arts Center Gallery is located at 30 Grove Street, Peterborough, and is open from 10a.m. to 6p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10am to 8pm Friday & Saturday and on Sundays from noon until 5 p.m. Admission is free.
