Winner of Juror's Choice Award

magrittes window caulfield family

Created with colored pencil on illustration board, "Magritte's Window" features a green apple hanging from a string in front of a blue cloudy sky, and references the Belgian surrealist painter Rene Magritte who was known for painting ordinary objects in an unusual context. Dadoly selected this piece because, in addition to being skillfuly rendered, it embraces the idea put forth by the gallery's call for entries: Play with Your Food.

"Magritte's Window" will be on display at the Sharon Arts Center Exhibition Gallery at 30 Grove St. Peterborough, NH until September 29.

The Sharon Arts Center is a non-profit organization.
