kristina loganGlass beads form an historical thread, connecting people and cultures throughout our history. Beads have been used by people around the world as religious objects, monetary exchange and ornamentation for at least forty thousand years. It is just this diversity that interests Logan and informs her work. Logan shows how beadmaking became a way to connect with other people both past and present and how this connection came full circle as she found the inspiration for her work coming directly from the people and places she experienced in her travels.

Kristina Logan is an independent artist who lives and works in New Hampshire and Provence, France. She was one of only four artists selected for the exhibiton in the Smithsonian American Art Museum's Renwick Gallery Invitational : Four Discovories in Craft, 2002. Kenneth Trapp, Curator-in-Charge at the Renwick Gallery wrote; "Logan's beads exist in their own right as art". Logan served as President of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers, 1996-1998 and has conducted glass beadmaking workshops throughout the world.
