The 7th Annual Left Bank Artists Group Exhibition

The Left Bank Artists Group Exhibition , December 1st, 2006 - January 7th, 2007.
There will be an Opening Reception with the artists
Friday December 1st from 5:00-7:00 PM.
The Left Bank Artists The Left Bank Artists are a group of eight friends from the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire who began exhibiting together in December of 2000. The venue for that first show gave the "Left Bankers" their name; it was a then unoccupied bank building on Grove Street in Peterborough, NH. The Granite Bank generously donated the space, which made an excellent art gallery, for a three-day Holiday Exhibit. The group went on to present the event for the next three years at the Peterborough Historical Society. Since 2004, the Sharon Arts Center Gallery in Peterborough has hosted the expanded exhibit, this year from December 1 through January 7, 2007. The eight Left Bank Artists create a wide range of work, both abstract and representational. Evelien Bachrach Seeger, a popular teacher at the Sharon Arts Center for many years, works in oils, watercolors, as well as monotypes. Sue Callihan, also a Sharon teacher, is a painter in oils and watercolors. Kim Cunningham creates ceramic sculptures as well as multi-media collages combining prints, beeswax, oil paint, and found metal. Scott Cunningham works three-dimensionally with welded steel sculptures and also does paintings with casein (milk) paint. Christine Destrempes is a painter in oils, oil sticks, and acrylics as well as a printmaker currently combining monotypes on hand made paper with beeswax, and a collage artist. David Dodge, John Sirois, and Daniel Thibeault are all plein-air oil painters, each well known in the Monadnock Region for their unique styles. The Left Bank Artists Group Exhibit at the Sharon Arts Center in downtown Peterborough, NH runs from Friday, December 1, 2006 through Sunday, January 7, 2007. An Opening Reception, to which the public is cordially invited, will be held Friday, December 1 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. A Gallery Talk, Art ala Carte, by the artists will be held on December 8 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. Bring your lunch and join the artists for an informal discussion. Light refreshments will be provided.
