Sharon Arts Center Craft Store Welcomes Noted Furniture Maker:
Maynard & Maynard Classic Fine Furniture
Friday July 2, 2004,
6 - 8 PM Opening Reception
The Sharon Arts Center is pleased to welcome Maynard & Maynard Classic Fine Furniture. For nearly thirty years, New England craftsman, Peter Maynard and his wife and business manager Marcie Maynard have been providing collectors, architects, and designers with handcrafted furniture in a wide range of styles from traditional to contemporary. Maynard, named one of the country's best furniture makers by Traditional Home Magazine, maintains the highest standards of aesthetics and craftsmanship in his handmade, custom-designed pieces.
Examples of Peter Maynard's fine workmanship may be seen at the Sharon Arts Center Craft Store in Peterborough's Depot Square. An opening reception will be held on July 2 from 6 - 8 PM. The Maynards also welcome special orders; furniture can be made to order in custom sizes, and in any of the following domestic hardwoods: quartersawn oak, cherry, curly maple and walnut. The lead time for a midsize project is twelve to twenty weeks from receipt of deposit. Peter Maynard has been developing the "Cold River Furniture Collection" - his interpretation of the Arts and Crafts style, synthesizing influences such as Charles Rennie Mackintosh, the Prairie School, Greene and Greene, Limbert and others.
