SAC’s Winter School Vacation Camp puts Art in Motion Feb 21-25!
Community Artist/Educator Nome Graham to Teach Week-long School Vacation Camp at Sharon Arts (Scholarships Available)
Nonprofit Sharon Arts Center is pleased to announce plans for our annual Winter School Vacation Week Camp program for children ages 7-12. The camp will take place Monday-Friday,
February 21st-25 providing parents with early drop-off options (8:30am), as well as both morning only and full-day program choices.
The activities and creative projects featured throughout the week will be based on the theme “Art in Motion,” and will include: the creation of “art machines,” two and three dimensional projects, and moving into the creation of a collaborative “art factory” for our final project! Led by known community artist and educator Nome Graham, the week will be filled with interactive projects that empower young artists to explore art as a dynamic creation rather than something still. “Our youth programs provide a wide variety of opportunities to explore the many facets of art- from individual and collaborative explorations, to immersion in art history, science, and world cultures. Our young artists get to share their excitement for art with their peers, and will enjoy the nurturing and inviting environment. Nome’s enthusiasm and dedication provides the kids with creative fuel to try new things, and be proud of their creations.” Explained School Director Alexandra Wall.
Naomi (Nome) Graham resides in Peterborough and received her BA from Mass College of Art with a focus on Community Art Education. She has explored and instructed in a variety of mediums and processes including: drawing, painting, fiber arts, clay, sculpture, encaustic, silk-screening, mixed media, and more. Naomi designs and often teaches many of the youth and teen art programs at Sharon Arts including serving as primary camp instructor and leader of our innovative ArtAccess teen portfolio development program.
