Empowers Artists with Promotional Tools- Scholarships Available
“Facebook for Artists,” an Artist Advancement workshop for artists, with Melanie McDonald will be presented on Saturday, March 5th, 10:00am – 1:00pm at the Sharon Arts School of Arts and Crafts, 457 Route 123, Sharon, NH. Artists, artisans, and those in marketing roles for arts organizations are invited to learn how to use Facebook to expand their communications. In a 3-hour workshop attendees will get an inside look at the explosive new social medium Facebook and explore its use as a free, medium for artists and art-related interests. We will learn to create Facebook events, invitations, albums, and discussions. Explore Facebook “insights” that provide information about the audience. Explore the interactive relationships between Facebook, websites, blogs, and other promotional tools. Learn new ways to engage and inform patrons, friends, “fans”, collaborators and potential customers while generating new interest in the artist’s “story”, studio practice, and work!

About Melanie McDonald: Melanie McDonald is formerly museum educator for school, teacher, and family programs at the Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art in CT. Additional studies include courses at Studio Art Centers International (Florence, Italy) the Brookfield Craft Center, and the Bank Street College of Education. As the former School Director and current Director of Community Outreach and Communications for Sharon Arts, Melanie is immersed in Facebook as one of many helpful marketing and communications tools.

Sharon Arts Center offers a wide variety of art classes and programs in the school facility in Sharon, NH, a Fine Craft Gallery, a Juried Artist Member Gallery, and an Exhibition Gallery at Depot Square.
The Sharon Arts School is located at 457 Route 123 in Sharon, NH. Classes take place Monday-Thursday from 10am-9pm, Fridays from 10am-4pm, and on select weekend days. The Student Shop is open during school office hours, Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.
